Updated with the new shading. =D
I was going to have posters on the wall, but once I got them on there, it looked too busy to me, so I left them out.

Tryin' again to win something in one of these contest. Even if I won 3rd place, it would be so awesome.

Movie nights are so fun. :D
Anyway, hopefully the imagery explains itself sufficiently, but just in case:
:bulletblack: 1st frame, "horror movie" (my friend does that little fists in front of face thing when she's scared. XD)
:bulletblack: 2nd frame, "comedy movie" (closed eyes are harder than you think. X( )
:bulletblack: 3rd frame, "action movie" (this one was a little tough, I thought that the best expression for that type of movie would be when they see the hero rise up and kick some butt.)

I've decided not to do another entry. I don't have the time. :/

Well, I'm happy to have gotten a pic colored. I haven't colored anything in almost 2 months. :dead:

Welp, wish me luck. :)

Nice. I think you gave a sense of feeling there for each frame well. Fear. Excitement. Comedy. Its all right there in thos three simple frames.:nod:

Okay, my crappy go at constructive crit xD;

I think overall the image is pretty neat. The shading is good, but I think for something like this, it may need to be a bit more like cell shading. That's just my opinion, though.

The poses are pretty good. You captured their expressions just right, though for the main large image, maybe you could have closed their eyes just a little more, give it that shy look?

But overall it's a pretty good image. I love the layout and the overall feel to it.

I did cut corners for the shading, and I like the idea of the more closed eyelids, I'll keep that in mind.

The way I shaded what I duplicated the base color layer, put it to 49% transparency and used the dodge & burn tools. ^^; It came out better than I expected, though.

Thanks for your thoughts and the fave. I really appreciate them. (And I don't think you suck at critique! :D )

Considering your art style (from looking at other pieces in your gallery) it is pretty good. It is great that you saw this contest and decided to enter.

However this is an officially sponsored deviantART contest, so there are going to be hundreds of entries, including some from some higher caliber artists. The winners who place in this contest, their pieces will be on the same level, if not better than, what a professional ad agency could have had commissioned.

Again it is great that you are entering, and that the contest inspired you to be creative. That is what counts.
